Bonfire Night

For the Brits amongst us.... it will soon be bonfire night - and fireworks!

What tips, techniques do you use to capture firework displays. I'd love to hear them and perhaps start a new thread on 'Fireworks', after this year's event.

To start us off, here are my tips...

Use a tripod!
have your camera set on BULB
Use a cable release/remote
Use mirror lock-up
Leave the shutter open and use black card or a black cap to cover the lens between shots (only use for two or three fireworks)

Some good tips guys - although I wish they would ban fireworks for sale to the public.. all those poor pets/animals scared out of their skins not to mention the impact on the enviroment.

Re: Bonfire Night

Funny how we all had the same idea.

Sadly I was the one setting them off on Saturday so no piccies this year, unless I pop out on Wednesday.

I presume you have to go to manual to achieve focus.
