Re: Been asked to do a wedding!!

Shoot RAW..shoot RAW....shoot RAW!!

You dont have to practice shooting in RAW - its the same as shooting in any other format. the only difference is in post-processing and the added detail and quality that RAW captures, plus editing RAW is far more versatile.

Re: Been asked to do a wedding!!

I shoot in RAW regardless... have always done it and always will. There is no difference between RAW and JPG when shooting!!! As JR said it is only in PP that the differences are noticed with the quality of the image.

I have 4 weddings booked this year and will be shooting in RAW for all of them.

Re: Been asked to do a wedding!!

Can I ask you a question?
Which do you prefer and enjoy the most the Rallies or the Weddings?

How is it going with your new camera?that will be great for weddings

Re: Been asked to do a wedding!!

I probably enjoy Rallies more, but unfortunately its very limited on time of year LOL. Also both subjects are vastly different. I guess i enjoy weddings once i am there but hate the build up, the nerves etc. At rallies everyone knows me and i have proven myself at rallies so there is less pressure. At weddings though you are in more control of the shots, you have more time to set up the shots and get them right. At a rally you only have 1 chance to get that dog team and only about 5 seconds to take the shot... sometimes less than that if you don't have a clear view of when they are coming around the corner! It is again vastly different from trackdays too where you have many attempts of getting a good shot as the bikes follow the same line around the track and can do up to 15 laps in a session which is 15 chances!

The new camera is perfect for both though, low light is not an issue.
