Books for beginners!

Can anyone recommend any books for beginners, that will help me understand the gargin and the ins and out of photography

I think I need to go on a course, (must look for one in my area....)

Point me in the right direction..........Please!!!!!

Why not go to your local public library, browse around and take one or two out on loan.

If its anything like my library the only book they would have on cameras would be "a beginers guide to the box brownie".

this book was recomended to me by a college tutor after i told him i struggled with the course even that i already passed my exam!lol very handy book esp the book is by tom ang .a very well known photographer ! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-Phot...0266940&sr=8-3

I have the "Digital Photographers handbook," by Tom Ang, and also "The new manual of Photography" by John Hedgecoe. Both very good.
