Re: A little help needed!!

Did this literally in 2 minutes. It's Corel Paint Shop Pro XL. I can do bits and pieces like this but no good at erasing, changing backgrounds etc. because I don't like reading books!

I did both the dogs eyes as the other ones looked a bit red, hope you don't mind.

Re: A little help needed!!

Is this what you're looking for

The dogs eye on the left of pic should be left alone, the reflection from the flash would not be picked up by the camera because of the angle, the dogs eyes face-on will show up green or blue, it seems to be quite common in dogs.

Use the round paint brush Jackie, paint the pupil black or a dark colour, then use a smaller size round brush again, about 10% of the size, with white, put a small dot where you think the reflection would bounce back (100% saturation) then enlarge the brush to 40% of the size of the pupil, ruduce the saturation to 15% and click over the center of the white dot (as many times as it takes until it looks natural), it gives it that diffused effect.

Re: A little help needed!!

Eye reflections from flash are quite common in animals.... if the weather is good, can you get some nice outdoor shots without flash using natural sunlight?

Otherwise - try and get the dogs to look elsewhere in the room...

It can also help if you have the room as bright as possible - keep the curtains open and put any lights you have on.. The brighter the room, the more the dogs eyes will close down, just like your camera aperture does, this may also reduce your 'glare'.

Another cheap solution - that may help - is to stick some tissue paper over your flash head, so that the light is diffused more, it's less likely to bounce back as much....

Finally - depending on the available light, you could potentially increase the ISO setting to around 800, and see whether you can get away with flash free pics indoors...

Hope that gives you some ideas of other things to try...

Good first shot though
