Manfrotto 732CY Tripod

£100 here http://www.jessops.com/online.store/...2276/show.html but can get it for 90.

Does anyone own this or seen it?

What I would like to know it I have a £30 CAMlink tripod. Will the Manfrotto one be rock solid especially around the head part. Mine does have that little wobble as it's cheaper.

If no one has the Manfrotto 732CY, what would you go for for £100 or under. Or will they all be the same and stick with what I have until I have more money?

That tripod you have linked, looks very spindly and the advert says for "compact system cameras or small DSLR models".

I would steer clear, if you can go for Manfrotto 190XProB HERE, but you will have to get a head which will take you a little over budget, but it will be worth it in the long run, because it will take any future lens and camera.

I use a ball head because they are quick to adjust and simple to use.

A good guide to check is to see what the load capacity is of a tripod, the heavier the load capacity the more stable a tripod should be. Always test a tripod fully extended for movement is my very best tip.
I have the Manfrotto 055XPROB with a Manfrotto 804RC2 head which is heavy but will last a lifetime. Got a couple of other tripods and heads but that is the one I use the most

Ok, Cheers Bazza. But with modern technology and all that, can't you get a light weight one that is just a sturdy?
Because of health reasons I can't lug heavy gear around with me.

Light weight ones are ok but I always use a remote shutter release to take maximum advantage of preventing camera movement.

It depends on the tripod really and how and what it is made of.

I still need a decent tripod, I'm an awful pain for having loads of really old camera kit around - which is great stuff, but it's on the verge of biting the dust these days!
