Blackwatch Soldier Memorial at Sunset

Hi shot this last night at sunset with my 10 stop filter. The memorial is at the back of Dundee, just off the A90 to Aberdeen.

Re: Blackwatch Soldier Memorial at Sunset

Very evocative Goggs.

I have a wee issue with the top of the far shot with the dark blotches and the background on the 2nd is a bit 'whooshy' for me.

I only say this because you have a really beautiful shot in there which needs no other assistance that might become distractions and I would love to see it simplified.

Feel free to tell me to 'go think'

No need to tell you to go think Daisy, I appreciate the feedback and what other people think of my shots.
We all see our shots in a different light to others. It sometimes takes another
persons take on it to highlight the things we dont see ourselves.

Hi Coggs

I prefer shot number two, although I find they both have a haunting/poignant feel to them.

Re: Blackwatch Soldier Memorial at Sunset

Here's another alternative to the two variations on your original. I just masked out the first and superimposed it over the second. I think the beautiful sky is preserved that way.

Hi thanks for taking the time out to reply. I also like the second one, but there is something about the sky in the first one that draws me back to it.

I have a crop of the second one that I quite like I will post it shortly.
