Kodakery

Does anyone remember hearing of the term Kodakery? George Eastman, inventer of commercial cameras and the first films coined the term as photography caught on in America in the 1800s. The original photographers had to carry glass plates into the wilderness and chemically sensitize the plates, expose them with cumbersome land cameras, then develop the glass plates on site with chemicals they carried with them. There were no enlargers yet so very large photos, black & white, were made as contact prints made of those glass negatives. What an undertaking that was by those early pioneering photographers capturing the wilderness!
