Re: Something's Fishy

I think they are lovely pics, the Starfish is just stunning the only thing I would say is that some could have been a little clearer, but not easy as they were all under water, and my guess through glass, and seeing as I couldn't have done any better, I can't really critique

Re: Something's Fishy

Hi Emma.
Some of them are fine, many are out of focus, perhaps due to looking through glass. No's 7 and 3 are my favourite, there isnt too much "distraction" in them.

It would help if you gave the camera settings you used if you'd like people to help you improve. Leave the EXIF data embedded if you can.

Re: Something's Fishy

I really like number 19 (lots of goldfish)

Number 1 is a Red bellied Piranah isn't it ?

Re: Something's Fishy

Yes thats a piranha, and yes all were taken through glass with the exception of the goldfish & the terrapins. I used the "close up" automatic setting on my canon 400D - not tried to use my own settings yet LOL

Re: Something's Fishy

Some nice shots there Emma!

I prefer the shots where you can see all the fish and in focus. Also the ones with unusual/bright colours work best for me

Re: Something's Fishy

not bad Emma

Fish can be difficult to capture due to their enviroment and the glass. To help, keep your lens as close to the glass ass poss and use a circular polarising filter to help reduce reflections. Also keep your flash off

Re: Something's Fishy

Yes, agree with KK, flash off, tripod if you have one and a circular polarising filter will take out the reflection.
