Maplins have hiked their prices up for xmas
Typical aint it, I had a browse round their shop today and they've put £25 on the price of an external HD (it was £55 in the summer) it's a Seagate 500 gig USB, it's a good HD but they've got a price ticket on it saying "reduced from £175 to £79, get him one for xmas" 
quite a few other items were hiked up, I go in there frequently and know what the going rate should be for their goods.

Feb is a generally an ok time to buy computer related stuff, I guess anything as they know people will pay more around Christmas.
Maplins have gone up in general tho! I remember when they were a small store and their parts were quite reasonable, went in there a few weeks ago to get a simple headphone extention cable and it was £5.99 !!! Couple of headphone jacks and some blimmin cable, should've been 20p each for the jacks and 50p for the cable!!
Wouldn't have minded if it was oxygen free copper wire and trippled shielded!

Back in there today again, I went to get a gender changer 
for a USB cable, they're asking £69 for 1 gig of ram, that's robbery I got 1 gig of ram last week from Silicon Group for a friend of mine, £16 . Maplins are way over the top.

just looks on their website and apparently they have one in cardiff have to look out for them next time im there but then maybe not if they are pricey !
