1st Moon shots

My 1st attempt at trying to " shoot the moon " ( pun intended )

It's very windy tonight, and I only managed a couple of minutes of clear sky, before the rain came back on.

Anyhoo...here they are.

Re: 1st Moon shots

Great Moon shots MD, especially #2. As you probablly know, it's very difficult to coax any detail out of a full Moon (unless the air is very steady and clear)as it appears flat and featureless, because the Sun has illuminated all of it (the side we can see).
The best time to photograph the Moon is the phases before full, when the Sun illuminates it from a differant angle, creating crater detail and shadows.

Looking forward to seeing more Moon shots MD

Re: 1st Moon shots

Nice one.

I've tried photographing the moon with naf results so well done.

I'm no expert but number 2 seems a bit better. The detail on the crater (at about 5 o'clock) is clearer and the lines that radiate from it are more visible and less burnt out than those in the first picture.
