Re: 1st Pet Portraits

Don't iron because if you do there maybe shiney spots.

Hang in the bathroom turn the shower on hot hot hot.......leave and steam for 10 mins then leave hanging and dry.

BEST THING IS NEVER TO FOLD IT AGAIN, BUT IN A NORMAL HOUSEHOLD COULD BE TRICKY.

Sorry for caps.

Re: 1st Pet Portraits

Thanks Jols for that I had quickly ironed the white muslin as was very creased, the black one was left for the fear of shiny spots appearing, think shiny spots are more visible on black. Ideally they would never be folded again but like you say it can be tricky, especially when lacking space. Eventually i am going to turn a spare bedroom into my photography room, that wont be anytime soon though......

Re: 1st Pet Portraits

black and white is the hardest to photograph as I found out recently when I went to PWP to photograph the new baby zebra in harsh light .
you have an advantage with your two pups as they are seperate ,I would chuck the RAW file into CS5 process the picture for the white one and save it then do the same with the blace one then I would blend the two pictures in CS5 .

Re: 1st Pet Portraits

My CS5 trial is about half way through Cakey. I have to agree with Black and White, with these being the 2 shades at each end of the spectrum, very difficult to get right......I also read that pets with black fur are very hard to photograph as well, a hair light needs to be set up.
Another small problem is, they always look scruffy, with them being long haired, as soon as they are brushed, they have one shake after brushing and they are very messy again
Yes they are both adorable Laura, they look at you with those puppy dog eyes as if butter would not melt though If i can get Rocco more used to the camera it will make things a whole lot easier
Ken, i do not mind one bit, anybody is welcome to have a go at reprocessing any of my images, my processing skills are limited. Could you tell me how you flattened out the screen though please. I am guessing using one of the blurring tabs, i did try gaussian blur but i could not get it right.......

Pleasure Mark, it was a quick and dirty attempt as it was a low res-picture I worked with. But using CS5, I started with the "spot healing brush" and drew over each crease in tern until the worst had been removed, then I did a quick selection of the background and used the mixer brush to finish of the odd uneven bits.
