Taking video

Why is it that most videos demonstration camcorder capabilities only show the zoom and not how good they are at panning shots?

I doesn't seem to make any difference if video is via a dedicated camcorder or a stills camera which can take videos.

Not being 'into' video Bazza - I've no idea however I suspect 'zoom' capability is one of those selling points (much like mega pixels with cameras) that your average consumer laps up.
