Think I need a new lens!!
Was out today and my most used lens, 70-300mm USM 111, was "stiff." I think I got sand in it at the racing a couple months ago, but today I noticed a bit of rubber coming out of the seal. 
It works ok, but "jolts" as I turn it, making focusing moving subjects difficult as the jolt blurs the image.
Im annoyed, I should of taken more care!

Oh dear, that's not good, especially if it is your favourite lens

Yes you can get them repaired, but this lens is under £200 new now and Ive had it at least 5yrs, so I dont think its worth it.
Not insured Jols, not seperate camera insurance anyway, should look into that.

Digigood price for a*NEW* CANON EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM LENS 70-300 mm lens from Digigood = £345
Jessops price = £390 although Jessops do sell cheaper models of the same range By Sigma
May even be cheaper elsewhere

I wish!! I have ordered the Sigma 70-200mm one. It looks a good lens, the reviews are favourable and the price is decent too.
