Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

Well, my camera got a bit wet today take one naked baby, a muppet who has camera right next to the posing bean bag,and a tiny bladder. You would think that considering I've had my own kids, and photographed several babies, that I would not be so dumb

Bless him, he looked much happier after he had done the deed, and it was a most impressive arch of pee.

Camera and lens both fine,Nikon can now add it to their advertising will withstand baby pee

Oi! I have to stick up for Nikon now though secretly, I will always be an Oly girl

I was impressed, with how it repelled the pee though a friend has just reminded me on FB, that her daughter vomited all over the hospital tog and his camera when she was born. Now, that is bad

Re: Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

I'm not one of these brand people and can honestly say that I do like Nikon lol

I've a Canon just now but for no reason other than - when I moved on from my Nikon D50 I felt the Canon 40D was better value than the Nikon D300.

Was it the right choice ?

Doesn't really matter as I've yet to splash out on 'decent' lenses.

I'm now at the point where I think lenses are the next step and I consider these a long term investment so (all things considered) the 40D body I have isn't really that important.

Canon L glass is where I really want to go but at the moment I fany a Nikon body.

Ho hum.....

Re: Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

I will always have a soft spot for Olympus but I do love my D300. But, like you I am after really good glass now, but it so scary in price, but I can't see me switching brands, so as long as I can use it on Full Frame when the time comes, it will be worth the initial outlay.

Re: Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

That's my thinking - whichever route i go down - buy glass that's suitable for FF

Top quality Canon L glass is all EF which works with cropped or ff sensors but they keep throwing in very attractive EF-S lenses which are great value for money but not full frame.

Re: Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

I understand life was simpler with my Olympus, not so much choice or availability

Have you noticed, how we can change the subject in any thread

Re: Tested my cameras weatherproofing today :D

Though lenses seem to hold their value suprisingly well - I know as I am trying to buy a second hand lens and the prices aren't falling that much short of some of the cheapest new prices.

Are you doing professional portrait work now Suzette?
