Light show

Ok guys been a while....
Tonight we have a Chinese Dragon parade through town and I'm wondering what will be the best settings please
Kit 1
Nikon d300
18-55 kit lens
Nikor 55-200
sigma 10-20

Over the years I have shot a lot at night, starting w/ film. I did a lot of trial and error. I found that shooting at night in cities, particularly San Francisco, using ISO 400, aperture f16 and bracketing w/ 4s, 6s, 8s and 10s would give me great results.
