Comparison between 40D & 5D

After reading DJ's comments about the 40D having better spec than the 5D I really scrutinised the comparisons between them.
You were right DJ, so I've saved myself £760 by going for the 40D, and I can still use all my lenses off the 350D.

I think it depends on what you are after, you can not ignore the fact that the 5D has a better IQ than the 40D. However, the 5D is now 2 years old so technology will have progressed in that time - I want to see what the 5D's replacement is like

Re: Comparison between 40D & 5D

Yes DJ is right that the 40D has some better specs but the 5D is still superior due to the full frame sensor. The bigger the sensor the better saturation and Depth of field and detail (Had to do an essay for college about it all and will give it to anyone wanting more info). it is a PRO Dslr unlike the 40D/30D/20D (i have a 30D) which are Intermediate to PRO DSLR,

The 5D will be replaced soon since it is still running Digic2 technology (so does the 30D and 20D) but the 40D is on Digic 3 and it needs an update. Once it has an update there wont be any confusion.
Kit 1
Canon 30D

Canon Efs 17- 85mm usm Is f4-5.6
Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 telemacro (1:2)
