YoP Awards!

Hey guys, just had an idea.

What do you think of running an annual awards? (at the end of this year)

We could have categories like:

Yo Photographer Of The Year
Yo Landscape Photographer Of The Year
Yo Portrait Photographer Of The Year
Yo Nature Photographer Of The Year
Yo Wedding Photographer Of The Year
etc

Then maybe have:

Yo Most Improved Photographer Of The Year
Yo HDR Photographer Of The Year
etc
etc

What do you think? I reckon it could be fun!

Sounds great. How would it work? Would you invite individual judges ? Would we be able to nominate other people's pictures?

I think it would be entry for memebr only, so if people wanted to enter they would need to join

And I think we should allow members to vote?

Open to ideas so don't really mind how it goes

sounds a good idea to me too. Might push people a bit to the next level in their photography

With a limited memberbase, it needs to be kept Small.

I'd reckon on 5 catagories tops.

Otherwise everyone wins. Once the memberbase opens up, then yes - go for it.

i think it a brilliant idea and will inspire me to do more also might encourage other peeps to join too

Hopefully we'll be launching our news front end this year, so that will see more members join up. The community part of the site has always been important to me hence why we launched that first.

I think running some assignments, competitions, would give us all some inspiration, and encourage more people to join.

If any of these are to be on the work submitted during the year it would be helpful if you could call up something like "more photos by this person" that would produce all the shots taken and posted with in the forum during the year.

May be this can be done but I just have not found it
