What was that about a bird in the hand
I was visiting the butterfly farm in Edinburgh last summer. It was hands on time for the children 
I just stood back and watched them, when it came to the spider the keeper looked me straight in the eye and asked if I wanted to have a hold, for someone who runs from the tiniest spider and voice in my head told me to go for it. This is the result. They are lovely and soft, not the least bit scary. I can say that now after six months of therapy

The chap who was the keeper said if we let a it fall it would probably break its legs, apparently they are quite fragile, not what I was thinking at all.
