wow they are fantstic,i will have to give this macro a try

I am the only one that thought those photos were just OK but nothing special?
I know some were taken by kids, so we'll let them off, but none of them blew me away.
Maybe I';m looking at the wroing gallery.

Hi Azz, thanks for posting. I love looking at natural history and wildlife photography.

The winning shot aside, (which I thought was just brilliant), I have to say, some of those runner up shots were on a par with many of the nature and macro shots that you guys have posted on here, so it's very encouraging to see the similarities, especially if those shots are being given special recognition.

Yeah I think it was just open to the public - and different age groups etc, maybe it's worth some Yoppers entering next year

I thought it was obvious that they were amateur shots, which is lovely, and I really think they were rather good - especially the frog, and the two spiders! I do like these Guardian photo comps - the Observer do a few too - worth keeping eyes peeled
