Putting pics back on to memory card?

Is it possible, as a way of saving pics, Ive been having trouble saving photo's to disk, and was wondering if it's possible to put pics onto a memory card, after they've been downloaded to my laptop and deleted from the memory card, there are some pic that I'd hate to lose if anything happened to my laptop.

Thank you

Christine

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

There may be some software which will enable you to do so, but you can't as a general rule of thumb. I have tried this before and even though it transfers the image. it can not then be read

I would invest in an external back up device and keep a copy of the photo's on there.

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

You can get 4gb USB memory drives for £15 - they'll hold a few pictures each, if you don't want to go to the bother of burning them to a backup DVD or CD...

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

Thanks, I was just wondering if it was possible as I was having so much trouble getting pics on a cd, the times my laptop nearly went throught the window was unbelievable, but my son sat down this morning with my laptop and has sorted it out for me, mind you it took him over 2 hours to do, it's just a relief to finally get my pics safe

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

Not that you need the info now but I discovered that I can write to memory cards in the slots in my HP printer (PhotoSmart C7100) as they appear as drives to the PC. That surprised me but it was useful when an elderly friend of mine got one of those digital photo displays for Christmas and wanted an album of my pictures to look through...on an SD card.

Considering that the printer cost very little, it's nice to know it can do more things than I thought!

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

Which memory card make are you using. Sandisk give a picture retrieval disc for their cards. Even though you have deleted the pictures, as long as the card hasn't been formatted, the pictures are still there in digital data form which the retrieval disc can get back. There may well be other programs for other discs out there on the internet but I stay with Sandisk so wouldn't know.

Re: Putting pics back on to memory card?

If the pics are still on your laptop, then yes, just connect the camera in pc mode and your PC should see it as an external disk - then just copy your files over
