Loving Lions

I can't help myself! The sun was out again this morning so I headed for the zoo to see if new animals were up and about. This visit it was the lions that were warming & grooming themselves. What fun!

Lovely set there Bob - love 2, 3 & 4 (although 3 feels like it's a tad too tightly cropped). Nice job!

Re: Loving Lions

Really like the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Lion images Bob.

What have you done to the images in terms of processing ? - they have a slightly 'painted' feel to them.

The only photo in this series that had any heavy processing is the elephant photo where I painted the toenails ping. I decreased the opacity to allow the actual nails to show through. I think I over-sharpened the elephant photo as well. The rest had levels adjustments, vignetting and exposure adjustments to add pop.

I just realized you may have been referring to the lion photos. I copied the main photo, did a screen blend mode and applied a filter mask to only bring more detail to the rocks behind the lions in #4.

All 4 shots had a filter applied known as the golden hour enhancer that warms earth colors. This is one of OnOne's Photo Tools 2.6 filters that I like.

Here two shots from those I shot that day. The first is post processed above and the second has absolutely nothing done to it.

Re: Loving Lions

Nice PP Bob. What did you do to them? You might wanna post it as a tip thread? Think a few people would be interested as it's a nice transformation

Good Idea Azz. I just edited the posted RAW straight conversion above to you can see the difference. I'll write a separate post on the step by step processing if I can remember them all. I process pretty quickly these days but I'll try not to skip any steps.
