The Moon, 200mm, 360mm, 400mm, 560mm

Just to show you that you dont need large telescopes and sophisticated electronic tracking mounts like I have to get decent pictures of the Moon.
I used my 70-200mm L on its own @ 200mm then with my 1.4 extender @360mm. I then used my 400mm L on its own @ 400mm (obviously) then with the 1.4 attached @560mm. All these images are 100% crops.

All shot using Spot metering, ISO 100, f11

1.200mm

2.360mm

3.400mm

4.560mm
Kit 1
Canon 5D MKII
Canon 400mm f5.6 L
Canon 70-200mm f4.0 L
Canon 17-40mm f4.0 L
Kit 2
Canon 50d

Great shots as always DJ, and some very useful tips there, thank you.

I've just got in from work, and had a look outside, but the moon is pretty much obscured where I am, but I'm gonna try tomorrow and get some lunar shots. I'll let you know how I got on.

Re: The Moon, 200mm, 360mm, 400mm, 560mm

I shall have to try again with the Nikon D200 as mine were taken with the D70s. maybe the extra 4 meg pix will make all the difference.

One big problem I came up against was as soon as I got the picture of the moon set up ready to take, some idiot kept moving the moon.
