Re: One i bred

Do you let it out of the cage? We used to have them when I was a kid, and when we had to clean the cage they were allowed out for a fly about

Re: One i bred

well not exactly, during the breeding season november to may,the stock birds are in 3'x18x18 breeding cages, but the birds that are waiting to breed are kept in flights to keep them fit,as the chicks are weened they are put in a nursery cage with an adult bird to learn how to find food and keep an eye open for any weak or sickly birds,,,,,as a pair finnish breeding they go to the main flight to rest and get fit again, the young are introduced to the flight as they get the hang of flying and finding food and water, all the breeding cages have sliding floors as to stop loosing a bird, some of these show birds cost more than a good camera, one top show winner was sold for 4figures and went to china,,,,,

Re: One i bred

Wish our rat breeding was even remotely as lucrative! We just don't operate that way though... all rats are worth as much as each other, regardless of lineage or showability.

Nice looking bird though!
