What scumbags started this

Behind one of the my sites is a SSSI area of rare heathland, Upton Heath.

Look what some little scumbag thought it would be fun to start

Three square miles of rare habitat destroyed just so some little idiot can have some "fun". I'd have some fun if I could have them for 10 minutes.

Re: What scumbags started this

Re: What scumbags started this

There are some idiots out there Steve.

Some years ago I suffered first hand, me and my wife struggled to buy a small paddock for years, to keep her horse in. Some moron then burnt the stable down with hay in it.

I learnt later that the chap that did it liked to watch fire engines.

Re: What scumbags started this

It's a terrible thing.
The damage and potentially the harm they cause.

Pathetic!

Re: What scumbags started this

Whoa..there..just a minute please.

I am ( as some of you know ) a 'Fire Brigade wife' and while I hate wilful firesetting as much if not more than the rest of you ( because it involves risks to my loved ones on a very personal level) there are a lot of very different issues here.

Firstly..Is this actually an act of wilful firesetting? Have arrests been made and witnesses called?

Heathland is notoriously volatile at this time of year..and yes it can catch fire by itself or with very little help. It cerainly doesn't require an angry villan with a petrol can and a zippo lighter.

If..it turns out that this is an act of wilful fireraising..and I do mean 'if'..then there are systems in place to investigate and deal with it and all the emotive gesturing in the world on here won't change what has already happened...but it is inciteful and without proof.

Re: What scumbags started this

The perpetrators were seen and a description given to the police along with direction they ran off in. Also, the press release from the Dorset fire service stated that arson was the cause.

Re: What scumbags started this

Fine Steve..

Frankly I would be seen running away from a fire too..it's hot in there

Now let Dorset fire Investigation team deal with the facts and not suggest here what you would do with the ( am guessing youthful from your account ) suspects given 10 mins alone with them eh?

That way lies trouble.

Re: What scumbags started this

Recently two youths got probation for kicking a young deer to death near this area.

That's justice?

It's about time people took it into their own hands to deal with scum that is infesting this country instead of letting the liberal do gooders allowing people to et away with ruining other peoples lives.

And if someone is caught for this fire what will it be. "oh poor souls have had a bad start to live let's let them off so they can do it again".

No! Someone has to stand up and say enough is enough and PUNISH these miscreants.

Re: What scumbags started this

Taking the law into one's own hands is only one step away from doing things to people "because".

Sorry, I can't suscribe to that theory.

remember the guy who was shot dead becasue he had a table leg wrapped in a bag?

Justice is best dealt out by people in full posession of all the facts and mindful of the antecedents.
