Re: I got my camera, Nikon D60

Well I went out to buy the Canon 450 D
But I went to all our camera shops and got loads of advice from the camera shop guys comparing Canon with Nikon.
And every shop I went to even though all but 1 sold both they all recommended the Nikon D60. I had to trust there opinion as it would of been in there interest for me to buy the Canon as was slightly more expensive.
But when I interogated them WHY? they all said that the Canon aftercare is awful if things go wrong whereas Nikon are great and they said the cameras take as good as pictures as each other but the Canon over priced.
I said I had £500 and just wanted the best I could get for that money. So I got:

Nikon D60 with 18-55mm lense
4GB Sandisk memory card (they gave me half price)
Carry case (got half price as well)

Battery nearly charged so will hopefully give it a go in a bit

Thank you Bazza and Azz u were right

Re: I got my camera, Nikon D60

Think you will still be able to claim the money back offer unless it does not cover the 60. It is so frustrating waiting for the battery to charge but once it has I hope you have months of joy with your new friend.

Well done on your choice, Im sure you will be happy with it. You are however wrong on Canon aftercare, its widely known they are excellent on customer service. They will even remove dust from your sensor FREE for the first time, no other manufacturer will, and its the most common problem with SLR's.

I think the seller was speaking from his underpants!!! or has heard a bad story, I suggest if you go back there again, you tell him to pull them up! (his underpants that is!!)

Look forward to seeing your pics, might be worth getting a new battery too, not sure what the life is like, but Bazza is always charging his up as they dont last very long, a spare would be good.

Re: I got my camera, Nikon D60

Dawn

The only reason I keep charging my camera up is because I like to keep batteries fully charged. When we went to Lingfield I took over 700 photos on one battery using Jpeg fine and there was still life in the battery after that.
As for removing dust the D60 has dust removal built in if my memory serves me correctly. the D60 did impress me at the Focus-on-Imaging at the NEC we went to earlier this year, the amount of features for the price is up with the best of them.

I seem to remember someone upgrading from the 450D Canon not so long ago to the 40D, I wonder why?

Bazza
