'Blown Out' - what does it mean?

Can I ask some more questions.....

Right I have noticed in the C+C's etc people have used terms lke Blown Out

Is this when an area has too much exposure???

There are a few more terms I am not sure about, and when they come to me I shall bug you again.

Sorry xx

Thought so... thanks.

Still not doing anymore C + C's too scary. Perhaps we should have an idiots guide to photographic terms

And the detail in the over exposed areas are lost and can not be brought back through PP

Think that is a shame if you feel like that, as long as people are constructively critical it can only be helpful and I bet they all dropped bricks to start with, I'm still chucking 99% of what I take in the bin so you are not alone and I am an experienced taker of images that are out of focus, badly lit, and show no attempt of being composed.

So carry on, and I will too, believe me this will be a forum like no other when true amateur enthusiasts can show their efforts and receive honest but kindly advice.
