Re: Hdr

That is an evil looking sky. Coming towards the gravestone makes it more menacing.

I like what you done to my picture Gordon. Very good.

I have given other picture a go. I'll post the original too so anyone can have a go if they want. Be good to see how everyone does it do it differently.

Re: Hdr

I like HDR, and both ends of the scale and use it in shots where people would probably be surprised to know that it has been cooked.

Recently I have posted a few heavily cooked shots, I think that HDR lends itself to mono stuff incredibly well and a lot of my mono stuff will have a HDR layer added.

I sometimes think that HDR is disliked by some of the purists, missing the point and the reason to use HDR, capturing the scene as it was. Digital has less stops of light that it can handle compared to film or the eye, and as such i think it is a useful tool to pull that detail out that a digital shot may lose from the medium its captured on.

Mention HDR and the shot will get the obvious comments, edit it on the subtle end of the scale, not mention the HDR and the same person will not even realise. A thing I have noticed on another forum I post on, as the same person will hate any shot with the term HDR and not notice the ones I don't want em to!!

Photography is art, art is subjective so if you like it use it and stuff the rest!

Both of these are HDR:
