Finally, someone who understands why I started this thread. If I put either one by itself it's a pleasing photo. Outdoor photography involving nature changes constantly with weather conditions, time of day and lighting. Also lens choice, aperature, shutter speed and technique come to play as well. HDR versus a single well exposed photograph will look different. It's all part of the photographic art.

Re: Waterfall - Different Day, Different Lens

What you need is a set of ND filters, you can get these cheaply on ebay. The populay ones are ND2, ND4 and ND8....

You're also best to photograph where possible on overcast days, this will allow for better and longer exposures and with no light fall from bright sunlight, plus the colours call more natural. Aperture plays a good roll of course and you need to set the camera to AV,(aperture priority) and set too between F/11 and F/16, the shutter speed with filters on will sort itself out.

You must also be carefull of over exposure when taking shots of moveing water too, so it's advised to under expose by about -1/3 to minus one full stop -1, remember you can always bring detail out in a slighty under exposed shot, any blown or very blocked out detail is nera impossible to bring back. I hope this helps a little more?
