Daft Outtakes

Just a bit of fun from a recent wedding. I was acting as second tog and assistant for a friend, the lady in #2:

#1.

#.2

My partner in crime is big into dirty gritty "vintage" PP whilst I prefer clean, natural, fresh and crisp virtually straight out of camera shots.

We work very well together and between us we consistently produce sets which are incredibly well received.

Of no photographic merit whatsoever the but the bride and groom liked these shots all the same

I still have the RAWs and can post them here in the event that anyone might like to do their own take on PP/editing

Blimey, after the last photos we saw in the self portrait thread how can you say that!

I like the content of these two pictures but the first is spoilt by the crop of the ladies face to the right. Is there a bigger picture that this has been cropped down to?

The second, on my monitor, this looks very contrasty and the colours are way off. It doesn't look like a PP effect, it just looks like something is wrong. The blacks are extreme and the skin tones orangey/strong. Nice smiley pic of a friend but needs desaturating and rescuing back to something more natural.

Re: Daft Outtakes

I like the natural feel of number 1 and I love the moment it captures.
I agree with BC on the critique for number 2 though. I like a bit of pop, but this has gone rather orange and the detail in the blacks have been lost.

Re: Daft Outtakes

Perhaps just desaturating the red and yellow in the face? I like the brickwork very much! I'd like a go at editing that one actually If you don't mind? I always like to practice!

Re: Daft Outtakes

Thanks for the crit everyone, very constructive and much appreciated. Cheers for looking and taking the time to comment in such detail

My friend has actions for her "vintage" processing and #2 was my attempt to emulate an effect one produces just using layers and stuff in CS3. It didn't quite work as you can see

Fortunately these were just outtakes though and the ones which made the album (Loxley - highly recommended) were lovely.

Not sure whether this will work Zoundz but I've taken the RAWs straight from the camera, converted them to Jpegs in Lightroom and uploaded them to Photobucket. File sizes might be too large for the forum to handle. If they won't upload, give me a shout and I'll try something else. I'd love to see your own take on the processing - give it a whirl!

Perfectly normal in these parts, aka Redneck Central! I'm guessing that you're a sophisticated urban-dwelling Leicestershire lad?

Nope, not cropped. The original image should be showing in this thread now and, as previously stated, not shot for the album, just an outtake and a bit of fun with a fellow tog. She was on the balcony of the bridal suite getting a group shot from above which turned out very well - nothing like a high perspective to flatter folk and make double chins/wrinkles melt away!
