Labrador running

OK - this was taken in Shutter speed priority, in Vivid style. I have cropped and Sharpened it a bit (so it is hopefully not as soft). I know it is not a fantasic picture, but it is such a dull day that it was the best of a bad bunch.

Re: Labrador running

I would be quite pleased with that shot - dark dogs are always hard to photograph and get the exposure right; you've managed it - did you note your exposure settings? Set them yourself, or was it auto?

I dont even mind the tongue out - but for running dog photos it helps to provide space for them to run into in when composing or cropping your pictures. for example,

Your Choc looks in good nick, I've trained a few for the gun in my time - here are a few of my dark lab photos for you to look at.

Re: Labrador running

Thanks . He is in good nick..(only 11 months) still learning about the gundog stuff (i have never trained a gundog before and his owners would like to take him shoolting when he gets over to Russia.
Exposure was Auto - I do not seem to be able to change it when shooting in S mode (Sutter speed priority) (I have tried but it makes no difference)

I love your shots - the eyes really make it work

Re: Labrador running

Good effort, dog is sharp and well exposed coat, you have given space all round although I would have liked a little more, the edit has improved the head area.

Most cameras have a mode that you can set the shutter speed and the aperture letting the camera set the ISO. Or you can turn it to manual and set everything yourself.
