Thank you Kay.
They were a pretty uninspiring bunch of supermarket £2 spray carnations but the light from the window caught them nicely so I got my 60mm lens out.
Any excuse!

That's interesting Dave..the first and last one were taken with the 40D, the middle one with the 450D ( same 60mm lens) as a bit of an experiment and I think you can see the difference.
