Re: Surprise Garden Visitor

Thanks Kay I had been putting some food out for the birds all throughout this morning and moving the feeders, adding a new feeder and adding new food for them, we thought we would treat them As i was in and out of the house most of the morning, everytime i came back out i would see him on the fence or lawn, then got too close and he was gone, 4 times this happened, by this time i had set camera up, and put some seed down on the lawn. The 5th time he visited, he stayed around and i was able to finally get a better photo of him

Re: Surprise Garden Visitor

One of my very favourite birds as you know Mark and so beautifully captured by you.

I always think they move as though on roller skates and have given me many a heart stopping moment as the weave in and out of the traffic picking insects off the road.

We get loads in the local Tesco car park for some reason.

Re: Surprise Garden Visitor

One day I seen two of these in my garden, I didn't actually know what type they were. That was the first and last time I seen them.

Re: Surprise Garden Visitor

Thanks Sharon and TN

Always found them fairly skittish Sharon but it does surprise me when there is mention of them in towns and cities, your lot of wagtails near your local Tescos, we had a bunch of them in the middle of Hemel town center before Xmas and apparently there are a lot of them down at Heathrow Airport. Always liked Pied Wagtails here but would be nice to get a Grey in the garden

They were just probably passing through Total, i think this one is, although its visited the garden many times today, i doubt i will see him later on in the week....

Re: Surprise Garden Visitor

Coolio Mark.
I had 2 goldfinches in my garden the other day. First time I've seen them.
Not had one of your Pied Wagtail though (saying that, I might have but wouldn't have a clue what it was )
