Re: Thailand Floods

Cannot work out what it is either, thought it was some kind of contraption to catch insects with them being a delicacy over there. Good shot Roy

Re: Thailand Floods

Ok ... I will explain

They are fishing for little fish , if you look at the nearest corner of the net to her you will see them . You may have seen the floods reported on the news , well this was the start of them . The fast running high waters in rivers and canals encouraged the locals to gather somethings in large numbers .

They simply lay the net in the current and lift after a few seconds , catching ten or twenty little fish at a time .

We Purchased 2 kilo , took them home and cleaned , dipped them in flour and and finally deep fried , delicious with sticky rice and sweet sauce .

When I say exploit , I don't mean that in a bad way , but the thais are wonderful at making money from a situation , like the floods for instance ... selling small boats ,bowls for carrying their possessions , catching fish and this all happens within an instant of a disaster happening .... A WONDERFUL PLACE

By the way I am pleased you like the Photo.

Roy

Re: Thailand Floods

I see, it all becomes clear now, I still couldn't see them in the net, but I understand now.

I quite like the second shot too, although I prefer my fish a bit bigger, in batter and old news paper
