Re: Early Evening Sun

Really nice picture, agree with Grumpy, usually best to avoid a 50/50 split, and in PP I would be tempted to pull up the sea marginally, and the building needs lifting about half a stop. Nice image.

Re: Early Evening Sun

I don't profess to be a landscape photographer at all so Phil or DJ or others that make it their specialism may be best to advise. However, I do know in general that the horizon is best like most things to be on the thirds, or at least not dividing the frame in half. A general rule of course which occasionally needs to be broken.

Incidentally the 10-20 is a brilliant lens. Was really sorry to see mine go when I generally moved to full frame, well mostly anyway.

Re: Early Evening Sun

Thank you Stu I have (probably subconsciously) generally done that since I started doing any sort of landscape stuff I know I'm not much good at landscape, but it does interest me!

Why the sad face ?

I loved my siggy 10-20 on my cropped 40D but unfortunately it had to go when I got a 1D as it wasn't compatible.

That's familiar, I sold mine too, to buy another lens I really wanted, was a lovely lens, just didn't use it enough
