Nikon D300 NEF in Photoshop CS3 Help
Since my PC probs i have re installed CS3 but it wont recognise NEF files. it used to !
i can view the files etc in windows i have Nikon capture etc but want to use raw files in CS3
any ideas ?

Check the adobe site for updates to CS3.

Try reinstalling the D300 software... I think it contains the NEF plug-in too.
I reinstalled photoshop once and I had to reinstall the D40 drivers to get it to work again.
If that doesn't work let us know and I'll see if I can find the download page for the NEF D300 plug-in.

I remember having the same problems - NEF files were a pain with my D50.

It may be worth downloading the latest ACR form here http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html and installing it.

Do you have the adobe RAW plugin installed?
That was my problem..

Thanks folks, had to manually put the plugin in. phew was getting rather frustrated with it 
Happy now.. I used this link for the plugin PLUGIN LINK
Manual installation on Windows:
1. Exit Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge.
2. Open My Computer.
3. Double-click Local Disk (C.
4. Navigate to: (Please read directory carefully)
Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS3\File Formats
5. Move the existing Camera Raw.8bi plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
6. Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw.8bi, from the download into the same folder as step 4.
7. Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.
