Re: Perigrine Falcon with a 500 L is and 1.4 converter

Nice shots Gordon - they're great birds.

I've got an offer of this lens next time I go up to Loch of the Lowes although I'm struggling to find time at the moment. I've used it before and found it takes a while to get used to it.

I may sell my MK 1 Escort Mexico and buy a 1D mk1V and 400 2.8 or 500 F4.
I would get more use from them, than I do the car.
The car is only out on good days and that is not offten in this country.
I know exactly what you are going through, thought wise. I nearly sold my Audi some 4 years back because I cycled to work every day then and the car was an expensive weekend toy and I used to think what I could by with the money... camera wise that is.

The mk4 is a lovely camera I don't regret buying it, every time I pick it up I just want to go and use it

Good luck with your decision Gordon (bet the Escort wins)
