PS vs Elements 10

I currently work in LR and have purchased Perfect Layers. I really do need something a bit more extensive so I am really trying to decide if I should purchase an upgrade for Elements 10 or purchase PS. My knowledge is limited in Elements already and quite honestly I'd probably be overwhelmed by PS. I take photos on the side and I work full time and I am behind a computer screen all day so the thought of learning a truly extensive program is just exhausting. Can anyone tell me the differences between the two (aside from the obvious) but why I would want to purchase one over the other. PS is so expensive and I honestly have to consider this.

I would download the trial versions and have a play with them Mary.

I guess it really depends on how much PP you want to do, I think the essentials (for me anyway) are:

• levels
• saturation
• resize/crop
• sharpening

And if you shoot in RAW good support for that.

Having said that, photoshop is excellent and I would always advise getting it if you can stretch to it

Pretty much agree with Azz, those are the items i use most, using the trial issues makes good sense some of Adobes releases seem to be tweaks rather than a full program .
