It certainly is a strange flower.
I'm no Percy Thrower but somehow the blue and the pink make for an unusual combination.
Don't really pride myself on flower shots but It would also work with the whole thing (petal tip to middle) in focus

Phil it's at f10 already, IIRC it wouldn't go much higher without noticable loss of quality with the ISO (and my lack of tripod
) but I do see what you're saying and agree - in fact, that was the thing that was annoying me most!
