This is lovely, quite inspiring. I like the way the movement has been captured and the photo works so well in b+w. Also the in-focus faces in the background add to the atmosphere of the pic.

The stillness of the spectators as a backdrop to the action-packed dancing works really well. Nice one!

One way you can experiment with shutter speed is to put your D40X in Shutter priority. That way you can turn your control dial to different shutter speeds to get the right amout of blur. Nice attempt on this photo.
