No idea what this is..

..but thought I'd post it anyway! It's from yesterdays drive.

This one's from todays drive, it's not great, by the time I found somewhere to park it was too close, and you can't see the mountains in the back which really would have made the pic

Re: No idea what this is..

The first one looks like the victorian prospect tower at the heights of Abraham, I cant remember what they were for. I will dig out a picture I have of it.

Re: No idea what this is..

Pic 1 could be a watch tower, as in the Napoleonic wars, there's a lot in England and Wales, they were put up to keep watch for an invasion by the French.

Victoria Prospect Tower. It was completed in 1844. Built to take advantage of the panoramic views, it also provided work for the unemployed at the time

Re: No idea what this is..

Thanks

I don't think the one I saw was as big, as I had to bend down a little to look into the whole. And I think it was blocked off - no way to get up but can't remember now. It was graffitied inside with devil worship signs etc

Re: No idea what this is..

You could go to the top of the one on the pic I posted, One of the most scary things in my life, the steps went very thin with a sheer drop and with it being wet it took some very steady footwork and a slow speed.

Re: No idea what this is..

Nice pictures Azz! The top one reminds me of a local semaphore tower - it may have had a similar use?
