Night Moon

Re: Earths natural Satellite

Just a couple for you Owen 2 night time shots through the scope, one just using the star diagonal and another using a Barlow lens (Does the same job as a teleconverter does on a DSLR) Sadly using this lens and imaging, it makes an already slow scope even slower, to something like an f22,lol

Again not as sharp as it could be

Re: Earths natural Satellite

Yes scale similar Ken, no crop done on either image above though.
I find handheld better too, cannot get it as sharp through tripod. Yours is nice and sharp
You will find the more focal length you have the less time you have to photograph the moon, only takes 4 minutes to move 1 degree, 1 degree does not sound a lot, but just see how far it goes across the sky in a 4 minute period

Yeh, I noticed that when I did try a tripod, you just set it up then when you next look through the view finder... it's moved

Re: Earths natural Satellite

As you are able to go to 900mm Ken, try centering on Saturn and Jupiter and seeing how fast they move

If your not sure where they would be at any given time, try this planetarium program.

www.stellarium.org

Great little program
