Re: First Moon photo Need some help

The atmoshere can do funny things when photographing the moon

There must have been a sand storm somewhere on the earth when I took this, can't think of any other explaination. It is as photographed. Only resized the picture but no colour alteration to enhance

Re: First Moon photo Need some help

M

Just one of those times over many years of being lucky to be able to get this type of shot. I recently did a thread on cloud formations which again was done over a number of years to put together.

Living in the countryside definately helps, no light polution and virtually the whole sky to observe in. Didn't have a digital camea when Hallies? Comet passed but watched it for several nights. Few shooting stars as well when we pass through the Van Allen meteor belt. Suppose the most exciting thing I saw was a meteor burning up in the earths atmosphere and it went from one horizon to the other in just a couple of seconds .

As for storms one I will never forget was standing on the cliffs in Perranporth Cornwall watching lightning bounce of the sea back to the sky and down again repeatedly across the 3 miles of bay. Scarey yes but amazing to see at the same time. I spent a lot of my early days there as its where my mother came from.

Could well have been the reason then thanks
