Glasgow Tower

Hmm...I posted this thread earlier, but now I can't find it!!!
Any ideas Azz???

Anyhoo...here it is again. Apologies to those who have seen it already.

The Glasgow tower at the Glasgow Science Centre.

At 127m high, it's the only building in the World that can rotate 360 degrees into the prevailing wind. It's massive 500ton bulk rests on a ball bearing only 65cm in diameter.

Now that's science!

Hey MD - there's only one thread with this title. Maybe it didn't go 'through' first time?

Re: Glasgow Tower

I have to scroll down a picture as I am on a teeny netbook. When I did that with picture 4, I loved the way the sky went from nearly black to nearly white!
Can't wait to see it on a decent sized screen.

Re: Glasgow Tower

No4 is brilliant, love how the sky graduates in colour, helps give a perspective of how tall it is.

Re: Glasgow Tower

I adore number 4 - what an interesting place - though looks like a different planet! Having said that... a tiny little ballbearing? I think I'll stay a good distance away... it doesn't sound very stable

Re: Glasgow Tower

Love the colours of the tower at night It looks much better against the night sky than what it looks like during the day.

Re: Glasgow Tower

Thanks for the comments folks

And Carole...I find that entire stretch of the river looks better at night for some reason.

I think it's because all the bridges are lit, and on a good night you can get some decent pictures here.

I'm slightly disappointed that the Tower itself isn't lit up. I always feel that if lit up properly, it would look spectacular, although I wouldn't have got picture 4 if it had been lit up.
