Harbour

I don't do many landscapes, and even less seascapes... took this a few months ago when I was feeling blue over redundancy in my job and stuff. Took a short break at a great little cottage with other half to mull it all over, and this was taken on a lonesome early morning walk.

As always, C&C welcome...

Re: Harbour

I like this BC, the only slight niggle for me is the level off contrast, I think I would of backed off a tad so the white of the building in the centre were not so hot and the shadows not quite as dark. Also I think 800pix wide does not do it justice, but other wise it's fantastic, love the calm reflective waters and the moody sky too.

Re: Harbour

Ok. 3rd time I've come back to look at this. As you like honesty....

My first thought was, to dark, to much in it, building to white, not for me.
But, each time I've looked, I've looked at the picture longer.

My eyes are drawn to the white building straight away, then slowly fade down to the boat in the foreground. Everything else including the colour and reflection are great in my eyes.

Funny how your thoughts can change when you look at something properly.

Another great picture BC.

Re: Harbour

Re: Harbour

Thanks. Like a lot of pictures on the net, 800 pixels is too small, the full size printed image really is the one to judge. I only post to a certain size so basically they are useless to anyone else.

Sometimes I too have to revisit the image several times to decide. You are right, I post here for honesty and feedback from anyone.

Thanks for looking.

Re: Harbour

I like the image, but the PP looks a bit too dark in places, it's almost like an off centre vignette, if that makes sense, but I do like the shot. x

Re: Harbour

Looked at it in full, and immediately thought I need to see it much bigger! Really like it myself. I agree that a couple of patches may be a bit dark, but I think it's got an eerie feel.

Nice work BC. Hope you're feeling a bit less despondent now
