Question for Dejavu.

Ello!
The Canon software you spoke of, is that the one that came with the 40d? I have never installed any of the software that has come with any camera. With a poke in the back, I am going to try RAW, my basic program doesnt do RAW and I have PS CS, but apart from opening it, I am completely stumped! I know you need specific RAW converting software and that one does it? Is it easy to use? Should I dig it out and install it?

Cheers.
Dawn.

Re: Question for Dejavu.

I know I'm not Dejavu but...

If you are working with RAW files, you might want to look at Adobe Lightroom:

http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshoplightroom/

also check out the vid:

http://www.adobe.com/products/photos.../testimonials/

Quote:
New Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® software is the professional photographer's essential toolbox, providing one easy application for managing, adjusting, and presenting large volumes of digital photographs so you can spend less time in front of the computer and more time behind the lens.
I haven't really used it much myself as I've only just got into photography... but it offers a lot more for RAW editing than PS alone.

Hi Dawn. Yes, the software comes with the 40d. I find it very easy to use and it's the only RAW processing/conversion software that I will use. I've tried other's but find Canon's better. I have Adobe lightroom but have only used it for creating and uploading my various galleries, I've yet to use it for RAW conversion. Here is a direct link to download Canon's DPP HERE, make sure you install the disk software first before installing the update.
