Hong Kong Supplies

I emailed HKSupplies.com after CymruChris posted about them.

I asked them how much they could do the D300 for if I was in the area and could pick it up, they said...

Quote:
Dear Azz,
You are welcome to buy direct from us.
We can offer you the Nikon D300 body at HKD12300 cash pick-up price.
Let us know the date you wish to pick it up.
Regards
Zoe
That's just £775.73 about £200 cheaper than the cheapest here (£964, but they are constantly out of stock!).

So just thought it worth mentioning that if you are going on hols, or fancy buying a few bits of equipment, it might be worth going there, the savings could pay for the holiday

Re: Hong Kong Supplies

If you are there - and you wave the cash - you'll get a better deal again...

The way I looked at it was that the money I saved when I bought my EOS400D, 17-85mm, 10-22mm and Metz Flash paid for my flight and some of my hotel - as if I'd paid UK prices - but got a holiday as well... Bargain

…best price I found (where they actually had one in stock!) was photo optix in Glasgow £1049. (just bought one ;o)
I was in HK in July and got a great price on a Nokia N95, had it for a day and it suddenly changed all text to Chinese! Not so easy to get back to English as say, French or German, but the nice guy in the electronics shop got it back to English for me and it’s been fine since! ;o)
If you do decide to buy from some of the great deals that are on offer in Asia remember that your guarantee is with that shop or Nikon dealer and you will be responsible for postage costs if things go wrong!
It’s a better idea if you are doing this to buy an independent warranty along with your camera that will allow you to get repairs in your own country.
I can give anyone on here details of an A1 HK dealer who can provide this service via ebay if anyone is going to go down this route.
Great news for D40X and D200 potential buyers. I am reliably informed that Nikon has now ceased manufacturing these models (in lieu of the D60 and D300) and they are presently (perhaps unofficially at this exact moment in time) discontinued items.
Look for bargains on these coming up fast!
Personally the D300 seems light years ahead of the D200 (compared to an upgrade from the D80) so spend your cash wisely!

Fraze.

Re: Hong Kong Supplies

My EOS400D and 40D are absolute equivalent (more than likely made in the same factory) as any camera bought in the uk.. How can it be different?
