Hi NS, much better attempt. I think plane photos often up up being more for an enthusiast than for photographers as they tend to be plane against blue sky. It does mean getting the exposure right, plane against brighter sky, but they tend to be a bit lacking interest for me. Look at the aviation websites and there are some plane spotter shots but the more interesting have other features '747 coming in over Hong Kong' or '737 landing with flaps and gear configured'. I think planes are better in a context of landing, taking off with other features visible, land, buildings, wing flaps, thrust etc.

The second PP is much impoved without the swirls and halo around the plane.
Whenever you do brightening it always worth keping in your mind to check for halos.
Do you use masked layers to do the adjustments? Thats a great non-destructive way to do it as you easily recover when you go over the edges.

Method? what method? Only just started using raw so everything is experimentation (messing about). Here's the original image just converted to jpeg.
