The new lens has arrived.

Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Macro DG



Hopefully gonna try the moon tonight.

Will up some pics. And boy is it hard to steady at full zoom :/ Tripod required methinks.

I had a 70-300 Sigma Apo - its a better lens then the price suggests. I think you will struggle with the moon tho!

anyway enjoy the lens - I found it was a tad soft at full end but performed well at interim distances - and performed VERY well with a converter on macro settings.

nice bit of kit... look forward to the moon shot.
i used a x2 converter with my 70-200 worked well with moon pics

Hmm. some of the pics on flickr suggest otherwise for the moon.

They look pretty good for a non telescope lol.

Anyhoo - gotto try these things eh?

And so far without convertor, the macro is pretty amazing! Will have to try and find a convertor to see just how well it performs.
