Are they geese, or dirt on the camera?

These are the pics I mentioned the other day, when I had the wrong lens on the camera, the light kept changing, and basically had a nightmare

Anyway, these were the flock of geese taking off, and as you can see it looks like a swarm of flies

I am just sooo good at bird pics! NOT!!xx

As a pleasing shot you had all the elements, light, a scene, the birds adding some interest to the pic bt maybe they didn't all come together just right for you on the day. The pics you have look a bit soft, and I think the shutter speed a bit slow caused by the failing light I'd guess. The birds are really too far away to have got an interesting pic.

Thing is Moonstone, you have seen the potential, the birds will be there so if you really want that shot you could go back and set yourself up in the right position at about the right time?

The birds in the foreground do add more interesting depth to the scene.
