It was -6 in my living room today

All the windows are now complete and even after the chill blowing through today it's as warm in here without a fire made up as it normally is with it lit. Just goes to show how knackered the old windows were.

Lovely new front door and frame being fitted in the morning. The snow has been coming down heavy all evening since the men left but the tools and materials are all here so the weather shouldn't be an issue.

To be fair - the living room has huge windows at either end and both of them (plus a lot of wall) had been removed for most of the day so it just became an Arctic wind tunnel.

The worst is over now - can't wait for the new door though - that will be the icing on the cake as I always think a front door says a lot. Our existing one is trashed because of the dogs and has been for years. The new one is bespoke and is currently in cardboard and foam in the hall. We've been so tempted to have a wee peek but we've not.

Bloody Snow

Despite being up at the crack of dawn to clear the new snow from around the house - no work today as our road is blocked again - not a happy bunny.

I really feel for you AZZ. Hope things get better soon.
